sleep now bye bye

Working on the invisible/intangible maze has been probably my most interesting uni project to date. I would have loved to see it in full size though the eventual prototype does demonstrate the maze concept flawlessly, I also would have liked the chance to test the camera in a darkened room to see if it had any difficulties tracking in low light.
Lee’s idea to stylise the wall tiles as Liechtenstein-esque pop art gave the whole project character and it probably would have been boring without it.
An avenue we barely touched on which we probably should have for its ability to make much more seamless transitions and increased immersion was sound. Sound could be used for helper voices or ambient noise, which could subsequently be mixed with other ambient noises from other areas, as you draw near to them.
What is great about the prototype though is its ability to be easily expanded to incorporate things like sound or video, with the shockwave platform and vector based imagery. I have recently been looking at the “Processing” platform though, which could, if given enough exposure possible replace shockwave. Seeing it is free and apparently almost as powerful (http://www.processing.org)
